In Law
Saturday, May 31, 2008: Unfortunately, I must stay at my sister's house a couple of weeks longer than I had planned. Getting out of here with almost no cash is not easy. In the meantime, I am putting up with her husband's attitude towards me. He says things under his breath, when he talks to me he uses a very sharp tone of voice, and if he should look at me, it is not a nice, friendly glance. Glacial is an optimistic description. I am not scared of him. I'm just sad, frustrated and angry. This is not what I expected when I came back from Argentina. Getting here was a great sacrifice and at the time I thought it was worth it, but I guess that this isn't so. Loneliness was a great big problem in Buenos Aires. I was an Argentine-born American citizen and it was difficult for me to deal with the prejudice and everything that goes with it. But here, living in a house with 4 people--my sister, her husband, my niece and my sister's adopted daughter from Guatemala--I am even more alone than I was over there. My niece won't talk to me because her mother feels the way she does about me. The adopted daughter has to stay with them, no matter what. And the husband? He has never liked my face. Never Ever.

Politically Correct?
Friday, May 30, 2008: Is it politically incorrect to say how ashamed and sad and bewildered I feel about my changed circumstances? Is it wrong to feel that this is unbelievable, wrong or just not the thing to make me jump for joy? I can't laugh anymore. I can hardly smile.

Roof Over my Head?
Monday, May 26, 2008: I have been told that I am lucky to have a roof over my head in my sister's house. I disagree. I am not welcome here, never was and I am very sorry I came. I do not need and I do not deserve to be thought of as a burden, as something nobody wants.

Strong Protagonist
Friday, May 23, 2008: The Different Flags screenplay is not at all like the book. In the novel, Ani, the 26 year old protagonist, is strong, but in the screenplay, she is stronger. This strenght does not come overnight. Through the changes she undergoes, Ani discovers the courage she never knew she had. Ani takes action. She reacts, but she acts. She does things, not only for her elderly aunt, but for her own life. She fights for the man she loves, even though he is a Catholic priest.

Deadline
Monday, May 19, 2008: I have been given a deadline to move out of my sister's house. ASAP. I am afraid of having nowhere to go and I don't relish the thought of dealing with her husband, Dave. He has never liked me, though I have never done anything to him. What will I do? It's got to be very soon. Very soon.

Drain
Saturday, May 17, 2008: One of the consequences of being foreclosed is rejection. Living temporarily with my sister and her family has been emotionally painful to say the least. Her attitude towards me is not only copied by her husband, but also by my niece Teresa and her adopted sister from Guatemala. When I came back from Argentina last December, I hoped that I would be able to be friends with my nieces. Now I am racking my brain to find the necessary funds to leave. Why don't they love me? They just don't. They fear I will become a burden.

Priestly Celibacy Update
As a woman who was once very much in love with a Catholic priest and who wanted to marry him, anything that can help do away with Priestly Celibacy is welcome. I am also completing the screenplay based on my novel Different Flags. DF narrates my feelings as a woman in love with a priest. Eugenia Renskoff

Married Priests
I wasn't there at the Married Priests Now! convention last summer, but if a woman loves a man and understands his priestly calling, she'd be an asset. She'd love to be involved in the activities having to do with the parish. Maybe in these modern times that woman would not be easy to find, but she is out there. More like her are, too. Dominion Ceremony
Saturday, May 10, 2008: I watched the graduation ceremony later, on the 11 o'clock news. When my brother in law graduated, I was not a member of the family. The dog and the cats kept me company.

Collection Bill
Wednesday, May 7, 2008: I have received a bill from the National Action Financial Services in Williamsburg, NY telling me that this is a past due account. I have just written them a Cease and Desist letter. I am also questioning the validity of the account. I never would have believed that there could be so much emotional pain in the world over money issues. Because this is an extension of the mortgage fraud/foreclosure situation, I will keep on fighting until the professionals responsible are punished.

Rescuing Me
Saturday, May 3, 2008: How can I rescue myself from this ungodly situation? What is the best way? I have been racking my brain trying to figure that one out. And there is hardly any time left. Very, very little time.

Screenplay
Friday, May 2, 2008: It is finally beginning to look like a story for the screen. I can see how the main will act, what she'll do, how she'll do it. A sheltered young woman falling in love with a priest in a foreign country. I'm happy that it is coming true. It's finally the first step of the reality I have always wanted.
